Christmas Candy Wreaths

Embrace the holiday spirit with our delightful Christmas Candy Wreaths, a festive treat that combines the fun of cooking with the joy of seasonal decoration. This recipe transforms simple ingredients like marshmallows, cornflakes, and cinnamon candies into beautiful green wreaths, perfect for holiday gatherings or as a sweet gift. The addition of vanilla and green food coloring to the melted marshmallow mixture gives these wreaths their distinct Christmas look, while the red cinnamon candies add a pop of color.

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 10 ounces regular marshmallows or 6 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon green food coloring
  • 5-6 cups cornflakes
  • Red cinnamon candies

Begin by melting the butter in a 3-quart saucepan. Add marshmallows to the melted butter and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture is syrupy.

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in vanilla (if using) and green food coloring. Gradually add the cornflakes to the marshmallow mixture, stirring until they are evenly coated.

For a large wreath, press the warm marshmallow and cornflake mixture into a buttered 6-cup ring mold. Alternatively, you can shape the mixture into a ring directly on a serving plate. Once shaped, remove the wreath from the mold if used, and dot it with red cinnamon candies for decoration. Slice the wreath into one-inch slices to serve. This method makes about 30 slices.

For individual wreaths, butter your hands slightly and shape 1/3 cupfuls of the warm cornflake mixture into small wreaths. Dot each wreath with red cinnamon candies. This variation yields about 12 individual wreaths.
